Ian A. Wine, M.S.W., R.S.W.

Ian is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) and a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) as well as the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW) and the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP). Ian received his Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Social Work from York University, and an Honours Bachelor degree in Psychology from the University of Western Ontario.

Ian has been working in the Mental Health, Addiction, Criminal Justice and Child Welfare sectors for over 18+ years. Ian’s clinical skills have been supported by numerous clinical internships and training. Ian has helped individuals develop skills and access resources needed to increase their capacity to be successful. Ian believes in treating the whole person and tailors treatment to meet each individual’s needs and treatment goals.

Working with clients from diverse backgrounds, Ian provides professional and confidential counselling to address a number of issues such as anxiety, trauma, depression, anger management, and relationship problems. Ian has a passion for expanding his knowledge in evidence-based practice and has completed additional professional training in different therapeutic modalities.

Ian uses an eclectic approach of holistic, evidence-based techniques to teach client’s how changing their thinking can change their behaviours and improve the outcome of their lives. Ian uses his own narrative of resiliency to motivate and inspire others to recognize the growth and positives that can come from life challenges.

I offer Therapy/Counselling Services in-person/office, or by phone and/or Video Conferencing.

  • Sessions that go over these times are billed in 15-minute increments. Payment is due at the end of each session and can be paid by cheque, cash, Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT), Credit Card (expected by September 2022).
  • Payment receipts for income tax and insurance are issued electronically once payment is verified. Payment is requested following the delivery of service, however alternate arrangements can be considered when requested in advance. Otherwise, payments not made after 14 days shall result in the suspension of service until payment is made.
  • Sessions are now available for 55 minutes, 70 minutes or 85 minutes subject to booking availability.
  • You may inquire about my sliding scale which is determined on an individual and case-by-case basis. Your mental health is a priority and I will accommodate Flexible Fee arrangements. Please contact me for further information.

What I Offer

In addition to Individual, family, and couple therapy/counselling, as well as group workshops, I offer individual and group consulting and conduct workshops, training, and debriefing for therapists, frontline workers, first responders, community organizers, and non-profit organizations.

Hybrid services (in-person/in-office, virtual sessions or telephone sessions) are now available!

I offer consultation/workshops/training on the following topics:

  • Conducting Assessments
  • Therapeutic and social work skills

I incorporate an anti-oppressive social justice lens into all the work I do. I utilize evidence-based practices, am creative, approachable, reflective, and have a sense of humour.
